Results of SE-Pack176 Art Competition

In commemoration of the 100th year of Scouting in Singapore, and in America, SE partnered with Pack 176 of San Francisco Bay Area in organising an Art Competition.  The theme was "Happy Birthday SSA/BSA".  Before the Cubs started on their artwork, we had a session to discuss the similarities and differences of SSA and BSA.  The materials were prepared by Ana, a leader from Pack 176.

After months of correspondences, we finally decided on the winners.  We sent the winners of Pack 176 prizes from Singapore, while they sent our winners really cool prizes from America!

Badge Patch Carnival 2010

The Badge Patch Carnival is an event for all Scouts to share, trade their badges and gain an insight into the collecting badges as a hobby.   Badge collection is a cultural heritage of the global Scout Movement, and you can find badges made to represent all international Scout events such as Jamborees and Conferences.

Various activities such as auctioning of badges, activities/games stalls, viewing of exhibitions, and trading posts formed part of the carnival.  To encourage active participation and enthusiasm of Scouts in pursuing badges, the full official event badge is made up of five parts and each part of the badge can be collected in two ways: participating in games and completing quizzes.

National Day Dinner 2010

As usual, in appreciation for our partnership with Senja-Cashew, we were treated to dinner at the GRC National Day Dinner 2010.  This year the massive dinner was held at the field next to Commonwealth MRT station.

30 Soaring Eagles Cub Scouts and Scouts attended the sumptuous dinner accompanied by funny entertainment, lots of laughter... and lots of extra food from the next table (ladies who were teachers at the PAP Kindergarten).
